Our project is entirely dependant on fundraising, grants and donations - hence our
project being of charitable status.
We currently estimate that to completely bring the first stage of our project to fruition
we will need to spend several hundred thousand pounds on ground preparation,
clearance, track laying and making the site ready for the public to visit.
We therefore would like to request your help.

but any funds we receive will speed these up considerably.
Why donate?
The LMMR is making a huge push to preserve one of the most historic coalfields and
railway lines in the World. It is difficult for us to do everything we would like to do on
site without your help. As a registered charity, we have been recognised as a cause
which will help other people. We will be giving something back to the communities of
south Wales through the education of future generations. We will be bringing an
attraction to an area of high unemployment and in turn will be regenerating a mining
area.

- 1498 Avonside locomotive restoration at Llangollen Railway.
- Vintage carriage project which will involve a large amount of carpentry
work. - Track laying of two run-round loops at both ends of our running line.
- Restoration of the bodywork of our Class 117 DMU and Class 107 DMU.
- Return of our GWR 'Toad' brakevan to it's original state.
